Why do Candle companies use paraffin? It’s Cheap
Candle companies make lots of money by purchasing cheap paraffin wax from the oil refineries. They use it without the concern of there customers health and long term safety. There are several carcinogen compounds (cancer-causing agents) found in paraffin candles. Virtually all of them have been considered "toxic air agents" by various environmental agencies. The National Academy of Sciences did a study of synthetic fragrances and found 95% of chemicals found in synthetic fragrances came from petroleum and included such compounds as benzee, aldehydes and other known toxics that are capable of causing birth defects, cancer, nervous system disorders and allergic disorders. What candle manufacturers don't want you to know
Some candle manufactures will claim to make clean burning soy candles. What they fail to tell you is that they will use a mix of paraffin wax and soy. Misleading you in thinking you are getting a pure candle. So be sure to ask question.
